Police Recover 13 Stolen Cows in Laikipia

Police officers in Laikipia County have recovered thirteen cows that had been stolen from Segera Location following a coordinated security operation.

According to a report from Ngarengiro Police Station dated March 11, 2026, the recovery followed an intelligence led operation conducted by officers from Ngarengiro Police Station working jointly with a team from the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) based in Naibor.

The operation was also participated by the chief of Segera Ward, and members of the National Police Reservists (NPR).

According to police,the recovery was achieved when the security team was on patrol in the area.

The security team traced and recovered all the thirteen cows that had earlier been reported stolen from Segera area.

Police said the animals were found abandoned at a farm in Surugoi Location within Rumuruti Division of Laikipia West Sub-County.

The recovered livestock were then escorted to Ngarengiro Police Station.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) later officially handed over the recovered animals to the owner, identified as Madam Halima.

No suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft.
