A man has been killed by a mob after stabbing his pregnant wife in Ganze,Kilifi County.
The wife is fighting for her life in hospital.
According to a police report from Bamba Police Station, the incident was reported today at around 4.00pm by Wachu Sub-Location Assistant Chief Patrick.
The administrator informed police that a 35 year old man, identified as Nzenge Charo Nzenge stabbed his 30 year-old pregnant wife, Kadzo Kitzao Baya, in the stomach at around 6:00 a.m. inside their house.
Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene but was pursued by members of the public who caught up with him shortly afterward.
The angry crowd descended on him and killed him on the spot.
The injured woman was rushed to Kilifi County Referral Hospital where she was admitted in serious condition and is receiving treatment.
Police officers from Bamba Police Station, together with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Ganze, visited and processed the crime scene.
During the investigation, officers recovered the suspected attack weapon, a blood stained knife, from the couple’s house.
The body of the deceased suspect was moved to the Kilifi County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination as investigations into the incident continue.
