Mark 11:13–14 (NIV)
“Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, ‘May no one ever eat fruit from you again.’ And his disciples heard him say it.”

When Jesus approached the fig tree, He expected to find fruit. Seeing only leaves, He spoke to it, and it withered. This moment reminds us that God looks beyond appearances—He searches for fruit in our lives. Many people display the leaves of religion: words, titles, activity, and outward spirituality. But the Lord desires the fruit of obedience, faith, love, and righteousness.
God has invested in you with grace, gifts, time, and opportunities. With every blessing comes an expectation. Just as the fig tree was meant to bear fruit, our lives are meant to produce results that glorify God and bless others.
Examine your life today. Move beyond appearances and intentionally bear fruit that honours God. Let your life become evidence of a living faith.
