A vehicle attached to a presidential motorcade was involved in a road accident in Busia County on Monday after a tyre burst caused the driver to lose control.
Police reports indicate that the accident occurred at about 12:20 pm today at Shimbale area along the Nambale–Burumba murram road.
The incident was reported to Busia Police Station a few minutes later at around 12:25 pm.
According to the report, Joakim Chisano was driving a Toyota Prado from Burumba towards the Nambale direction when the vehicle developed a sudden tyre burst at the scene of the accident.
The driver subsequently lost control, causing the vehicle to roll twice before landing in a roadside ditch.
Despite the dramatic rollover, all occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt.
Police officers visited the scene and documented the incident before arranging for the damaged vehicle to be towed to Busia Police Station, where it is being held pending inspection.
