Police in Muhoroni,Kisumu County have arrested 10 youths suspected to be members of a criminal group known as “Katalang”.
The arrest followed a targeted security operation in Masogo area.
According to police at Masogo Police Station, the operation was launched earlier today under the command of the Station Police Commander.
The operation according to police was aimed at dismantling the gang which has been linked to criminal activities in the area.
During the crackdown, officers recovered a cache of dangerous weapons, including pangas, spears, rungus, and swords.
Police also seized items believed to be associated with the group, such as flags, berets, mufflers, and other paraphernalia.
All 10 suspects are currently in custody and are undergoing processing ahead of their planned arraignment in court tomorrow.
Police say operations to track down more members of the group are ongoing as security agencies intensify efforts to restore safety in the region.
