A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed by a woman during a violent altercation at Kilala Market in Makueni County.
Police at Mukuyuni Police Station received a report yesterday evening indicating that the incident occurred at around 5:00 p.m.
The matter was reported by Kilala Market chairman, Musyoki Kimilu, who alerted police that a fight had broken out within the busy market.
The victim, identified as Patrick Mutunga, sustained a stab wound to the left side of his chest.
He was immediately rushed to Makueni Referral Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
Police investigations indicate that the suspect, Christine Nthenya Kyalo, allegedly stabbed the victim during the confrontation.
Officers who visited the scene later recovered a blood stained knife from the suspect’s rented room, which is believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
The case is currently under investigation, with officers from Mukuyuni handling the matter as a serious assault.
Police have not yet disclosed the cause of the dispute that led to the violent incident.
