Police in Naivasha are investigating a violent highway robbery incident that left two men injured after they were ambushed by an armed gang along the Nairobi–Naivasha road in the early hours of today morning.
According to a report filed at Maai-Mahiu Police Station, the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. at the Escarpment area of Lari.
The victims, identified as Kelvin Bosire and his driver Kelvin Ndivo Kanyanya, were traveling from Nairobi to Kisii in a black Toyota Land Cruiser when they were caught in a traffic jam.

The two reportedly stepped out of their vehicle briefly, only to be confronted by three assailants armed with rungus and machetes.
The attackers forced them back into the vehicle and ordered them to drive towards Naivasha.
The gang later diverted to the Jikaze area.
They robbed the victims of two mobile phones a Samsung S24 Ultra valued at Sh 200,000 and a Tecno 40 Pro worth Sh 25,000.
The attackers also forced a mobile money transfer of Sh 87,000 from one of the victim’s phones.
During the ordeal, the driver, Kanyanya, sustained serious injuries including a head wound and a fractured left leg, while Bosire suffered injuries to his right leg.
The victims were later dumped by the roadside before the gang fled with the vehicle towards Naivasha.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and rushed the injured to Maai Mahiu Health Centre.
Bosire was treated and discharged in fair condition, while Kanyanya was referred to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital for specialized treatment.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.
