Bee swarm sparks scare at hospital mortuary

By Our Correspondent,Yala.

A swarm of bees caused panic at Yala Hospital mortuary in Siaya County on Thursday as a woman’s body was being removed for transportation to Gem-Nyamboga.

The incident triggered a stampede as mourners and other people fled for safety.

The coffin was reportedly abandoned during the commotion, but a group of young men later took the body and carried it away.

The bees subsequently moved away from the immediate scene before regrouping at the mortuary’s entrance office, where they are alleged to have established a hive.

No casualties or injuries were reported following the incident.
