GBV WATCH:Police Clarify Man Who Assaulted Woman in Joska Left Military Service

By Our Correspondent,Joska.

A man initially believed to be a serving KDF officer is now under investigation after police established that he is no longer in military service, according to a follow up report from Joska Police Station in Machakos County.

The suspect, identified as Stephen Muchoki Macharia, is alleged to have impersonated a KDF captain despite having left the military.

Police said he also claims to be a mechanic supervisor working for Samsung Engineering Ltd in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The clarification follows earlier reports that identified him as a serving KDF officer.

Police have since requested that previous communication forwarded to the Ministry of Defence be disregarded.

Investigators on Wednesday visited the complainant, Lilian Wamuchia, who remains admitted at Bahati Hospital in critical condition.

Doctors told officers that she is unstable and suffering from internal bleeding after reportedly vomiting and passing blood stained substances while undergoing treatment.

According to the police report, Wamuchia had arrived in Kenya from Turkey on August 2, 2026, and was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the suspect and other individuals.

The suspect remains in custody as police seek custodial orders from the court to facilitate further investigations.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Joska Police Station is leading the probe.
