Westlands MP aspirant Moses Adala joined residents of Kangemi in lighting candles in memory of former Prime Minister and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga on Friday night.
The gathering was marked by grief, but also gratitude for Raila’s contribution to the country and his long standing advocacy for justice and a better Kenya as the country marked one year since his demise.
Residents described Raila as a father figure, a pillar and a voice for the voiceless, saying his legacy would continue to inspire generations.

They said although they had lost his physical presence, his spirit would live on through their pursuit of justice, unity and hope for a better tomorrow.
“Baba, Westlands and Kenyans at large will forever be proud to call you ours,” they said.
The candle lighting ceremony ended with a message of peace and remembrance as residents paid tribute to the late opposition leader.

Rest in peace, Baba Raila Amolo Odinga.
