A man aged 36 is receiving treatment after attempting to commit suicide by ingesting pesticide following a dispute over Sh58,000 in unpaid wages in Mtepani, Kilifi County.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening and was reported to Ndonya Police Station by his employer, Ms Mames Mildred.
Police officers who responded to the scene established that the man, identified as Ben Nasongo, had allegedly become frustrated after his employer failed to pay him the money he was owed.
Nasongo was rushed to Mtwapa Sub-County Hospital for emergency treatment before being referred to Coast General Hospital for further medical attention.
Police have commenced investigations into the incident, which remains under inquiry.
