Man Restrained by Villagers After Attacking Four People in Mathioya.

A 22 year old man is receiving treatment under police guard after he was beaten by members of the public following his series of attacks on residents in Mathioya Murang’a County.
According to police, the incident was reported at Nyakianga Police Station on the night of July 21 by Geoffrey Mwangi Wanjana, who said his grandson, Kariuki Wanjama, had developed unusual behaviour and was assaulting people indiscriminately.
Officers who responded to Kanguno area in Njumbi Location found the suspect tied up with ropes by members of the public.
Preliminary investigations indicate that four people sustained injuries during the incident.
The victims were identified as Kahindu Titus, who suffered a head injury after allegedly being struck with a stone; Edwin Njoroge, who also sustained a head injury; Lucy Wangui, who suffered a bite injury on the neck; and Patrick Maina, who sustained a bite injury on the cheek.
Police said the suspect had also been assaulted by the crowd and was found with head injuries.
He was taken to Kiriaini Mission Hospital for treatment, where he remains under police watch.
The scene was processed, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
