Oparanya:Court declares unconstitutional decision by ODPP to drop corruption case

The High Court has declared the decision by the ODPP to drop the corruption case against Cooperative Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya unconstitutional and irregular.

The case relates to allegations that Oparanya received Sh56.7 million from companies that won contracts worth more than Sh2.2 billion from the Kakamega County government during his tenure as governor.

The court found that the ODPP reviewed its decision without involving the EACC, which had conducted the investigation and recommended prosecution.
