Police officer injured after handcuffed suspect bites him in Matisi

A police officer was injured after a handcuffed suspect allegedly bit him on the mouth while in custody at Matisi Police Station in Trans Nzoia County.

According to a police report filed on Tuesday evening,Charles Kipkorir Lagat was injured while on duty.

The incident reportedly occurred while the suspect, identified as Dickson Wanyama, was handcuffed inside a police vehicle.

The suspect is said to have struck the officer, injuring his mouth and damaging his left incisor tooth.

The officer was taken to Tom Mboya Hospital, treated and discharged in fair condition.

Officers at Matisi Police Station documented the circumstances of the incident.
