Mavoko MP and 2027 Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Patrick Makau has received the MGH Medal in recognition of his service and leadership as Chairman of the Parliamentary Service Commission’s Committee on Security and Development.
Makau said he received the honour with humility and gratitude, attributing the recognition to God and thanking the people of Mavoko, his parliamentary colleagues and supporters.
He highlighted his contribution to major parliamentary developments, including Parliamentary Square, Bunge Tower, the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST), and the modern Senate and National Assembly Chambers.
“I receive this honour with humility and gratitude. All glory goes to Almighty God,” Makau said.
It was presented to him in Nairobi on Thursday by national assembly speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
The recognition comes as Makau builds his profile ahead of the 2027 Machakos gubernatorial contest, where he is positioning himself to succeed Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
