A total of 101 suspects have been arrested following a multi-agency security operation targeting illicit brews and criminal activities (goons) in Kitale town and its surrounding areas.
The operation, conducted by officers drawn from the Kenya Police Service (KPS), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Administration Police Service (APS), and National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO), was based on several police reports recorded on April 15, 2026.
During the crackdown,officers recovered assorted items believed to be stolen, including electronic devices and mobile phones.
Several suspects were also found in possession of chang’aa, while others were arrested for allegedly preparing to commit felonies and frequenting areas suspected to be hubs for bhang consumption.
Police confirmed that all suspects will be arraigned in court today to face various charges.
Security agencies have vowed to sustain the operation as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and illegal brewing activities in the region.
