Kitutu Central OCPD Kazungu Charo has died after an illness.
A report recorded at Nyanchwa Police Station this evening indicated that the deceased who is a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) fell ill during the night yesterday and was rushed to Mediforte Hospital at around 5:00 a.m.
He was immediately placed under treatment but sadly succumbed shortly thereafter.
Police reports indicate that the late officer had been battling health complications over the past six months, during which he was frequently in and out of hospital receiving blood transfusions and treatment for severe pelvic and back pain.
He had earlier been discharged from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu on April 14, 2026.
His body has been preserved at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary as arrangements are underway to transfer it to his home area in Kilifi County for burial preparations.
The family of the deceased has been informed.
