Bible verse of the Day:Daniel 1:8

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya.

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the kings food or with the wine that he drank. Therefore, he asked the chief of eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself.”

In a foreign land filled with pressure to conform, Daniel made a quiet but powerful decision—he set his heart before the test came. He didn’t wait for the moment of temptation to decide; he had already resolved within himself to honour God. This was not just about food—it was about identity, conviction, and unwavering devotion.

True strength is revealed in private decisions. Long before public victory, there is a personal commitment to righteousness. Daniel teaches us that holiness is intentional. In a world that constantly pushes compromise, we must purpose in our hearts to stand firm, even when it costs us comfort, approval, or opportunity.

God honours those who honour Him. Daniel’s decision opened the door for favour, wisdom, and influence in Babylon.

Set your convictions today before pressure comes. Choose purity, choose obedience, and trust God to reward your stand.
