A one year old girl has died after being attacked by a goat in Bungoma County.
The incident occurred at Lunakwe Village in Bumula where the child, identified as Chasty Sheril, was hit by a he goat within a homestead.
According to a report made by Lumboka Sub location Assistant Chief Constant Okumu Barasa, the incident happened at around 5:00 pm yesterday.
The goat, which was grazing within the compound of Thomas Luketelo, reportedly turned aggressive and hit the child, leading to her instant death.
Police officers from Mateka Patrol Base visited the scene and documented the incident, with photographs taken as part of investigations.
The body of the minor was later moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
