Bible verse of the day:2 Samuel 23:10

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya.

When the Israelite army retreated, Eleazar son of Dodai stood his ground against the Philistines. He fought with such intensity that his muscles cramped and his hand “froze to the sword.” He didn’t just carry his weapon; he became inseparable from it.

We often pray for God to take the weight of the battle off our shoulders, but sometimes God’s providence looks like the strength to endure. Eleazar’s victory didn’t come because the battle was easy, but because he refused to let go of his defence when his feelings and fatigue told him to quit.

In seasons of transition or trial, your “sword” is the Word of God. You might feel weary, and your grip might feel weak, but there is a divine supernatural locking that happens when you refuse to retreat. God honours the one who stays in the field.

Identify the “field” you are tempted to abandon today—whether it’s a difficult marriage, a struggling dream, or your spiritual discipline.

Commit to one hour of focused prayer or scripture study tonight.Do not just read the Word; grip it until it becomes part of you. Stand your ground, and watch the Lord bring about a great victory through your persistence.
