Passenger rescued as suspected abductors abandon motorbike in Nakuru

Police officers on patrol in Nakuru East today rescued a passenger from an attempted abduction after two suspected criminals tried to force him onto a motorbike before fleeing on foot and abandoning the motorcycle.

According to a report from Mwariki Police Station, the incident occurred at around 4:10 a.m at the Pipeline stopover.

The victim, identified as Michael Okello, was travelling to Nairobi from Chavakali in Vihiga County aboard a Green Line bus registration number when the incident happened.

Police said two suspects riding a blue Boxer motorcycle registration number KNFV 325B allegedly attempted to abduct him shortly after the bus stopped at the stage.

Okello reportedly raised an alarm, attracting the attention of officers who were conducting patrols in the area.

The suspects escaped on foot upon noticing the officers, leaving behind the motorcycle which was later detained at Mwariki Police Station as investigations commenced.

Police have launched a probe into the attempted abduction and efforts to trace the suspects are ongoing. [DNK-International@May 14,2026]
