Police Nab Three Suspected Drug Traffickers, Seize Bhang Worth Sh1.2 Million in Homa Bay

Three suspected drug traffickers have been arrested and a large consignment of cannabis sativa (bhang) valued at approximately Sh1.2 million seized during a multi-agency security operation in Homa Bay County.

According to police, the operation was conducted at about Thursday night in Rambira Location within Rachuonyo North Sub-County by a team comprising officers from Kendubay Police Station, NGAO officials, the area chief and the assistant chief of Kamser Seka Sub-location.

During the crackdown targeting illicit brews and narcotic drugs, the security team arrested three suspects identified as George Obuya,Mary Achieng’ Aloo and Mary Achieng’ Sagia.

Police said the suspects were found storing cannabis sativa concealed in a banana plantation at a residential house.

Officers recovered 636 rolls of bhang packed in two green sacks and a white carrier bag.

The suspects were escorted to Kendubay Police Station, where they were detained.
The recovered drugs were retained as exhibits.
Investigations into the trafficking network and the source of the narcotics are ongoing under the supervision of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Kendubay Police Station.
