Missing Firearm:Karen Businessman Held

A Karen based businessman is being held and interrogated by detectives after reporting the loss of his licensed firearm and ammunition under circumstances that remain unclear.

According to officers at Karen Police Station, Eliakim Charles Ooko Alando, a licensed civilian firearm holder and real estate businessman, reported that he discovered his firearm missing from his residence in Karen at around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The missing weapon is a Ceska pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

Police investigations indicate that the firearm owner last recalls having the weapon on June 18 while running errands along Mombasa Road, including a visit to Tile and Carpet Centre before proceeding to Eka Hotel.

Police said the exact circumstances and location where the firearm was lost have not been established, as the firearm holder was unable to provide a clear explanation regarding its disappearance.

As investigations continue, the businessman is being held at Karen Police Station for further interrogation while detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Karen pursue the matter.
