Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has emerged as one of the most recognizable young politicians in Kisii County.

According to the National Police Service, several vehicles were damaged after they were attacked by groups of people and led to the death of one person Vincent Mapinduzi.
The incident has prompted investigations with so so far leading to the arrest of eight suspects.
Police have confirmed that Jhanda has been summoned to appear before the Kisii County DCI offices as part of the ongoing investigations.

Police on their part has equally condemned the violence, describing political intolerance as unacceptable and warning that all perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
Analysts believe the ongoing investigations could significantly influence Jhanda’s 2027 re-election prospects.
If investigations clear him of any wrongdoing, the controversy may strengthen his support base by allowing him to portray himself as a victim of political rivalry.
However, should investigations produce evidence linking him or his associates to the violence, the incident could damage his carefully cultivated image as a youthful development oriented leader and become a major campaign issue for his opponents.
