There has been public criticism regarding the performance of PS for the State Department for Wildlife, Silvia Museiya.
According to a Politrack Africa poll conducted as of June 30,2026, she was ranked 55th out of 56 Principal Secretaries, placing her second from the bottom in the performance assessment.
Concerns have also been raised by some citizens and in public oversight discussions regarding the management of public funds within the State Department for Wildlife.
Among the issues highlighted are questions over approximately Sh 300 million reportedly spent on consultancy services related to wildlife compensation, with calls for greater accountability and transparency.
The reported expenditure formed part of Sh 800 million allocated to the State Department for Wildlife to compensate victims of wildlife attacks.
Some members of the public have expressed dissatisfaction with the department’s performance, and the Politrack Africa poll reportedly found that 69% of respondents believed the Principal Secretary was not performing her duties effectively.
These issues remain matters of public interest.
Any conclusions regarding financial management or misconduct should be based on official audit reports, findings by oversight agencies, or the outcome of any investigations.
