An assistant Chief in Korogocho,Nairobi narrowly escaped a dagger attack when a man stormed into his office and threatened to kill him over employment under the government’s Kazi Mtaani programme.
According to a police report, the incident occurred on Tuesday ay at around 1:00 p.m. when Assistant Chief Paul Macharia reported that a suspect identified as Ismael Ali Ibrahim confronted him inside his office, demanding to be secured a job.
The suspect according to police report,threatened to kill the administrator if his demand was not met.
Macharia raised an alarm, attracting the attention of two police officers who were on foot patrol nearby.
The officers rushed to the scene, prompting the suspect to draw a dagger that had been concealed in his trouser.
The OCS Korogocho was alerted and dispatched additional officers to reinforce the patrol team.
Ibrahim was overpowered and arrested.
Police recovered the dagger and escorted him to Korogocho Police Station pending his arraignment in court.
