Five suspects have been arraigned before Milimani Court,Nairobi over an alleged fake recruitment scheme in which they are accused of posing as officers from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and defrauding unsuspecting job seekers.
The accused, identified as Patrick Kibor, Moses Tarus Kibor, Humphrey Ngeiywo Kutuli, Abraham Kimeli and David Warui Mugenyo, were charged on Friday, July 10 following their arrest in connection with the recruitment fraud.
According to the charge sheet, the suspects used forged NIS employment application forms and fake calling letters to lure job seekers before obtaining money from them under false pretences.
They were charged with obtaining money by false pretences, acquisition of proceeds of crime and use of proceeds of crime.
They all denied the charges and the court released each of them on a bond of Sh200,000 with one surety of a similar amount or an alternative cash bail of Sh70,000.
The case will be mentioned on August 3.
