Tragedy at Masinga Dam as 33-Year-Old Man and Two Bulls Die in Ox-Cart Accident

A man aged 33 years old has drowned alongside two bulls after an ox-cart accident at the shores of Masinga Dam in Ndithini, Machakos County.

The incident occurred at about 4.00 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Dominic Nthenge, was driving an ox-cart pulled by two bulls to fetch water from the dam when he reportedly slipped into the water together with the animals and the cart.

The accident claimed the lives of both the man and the two bulls.

Police officers led by the OCS Ndithini visited the scene and supervised the retrieval of the body and the carcasses of the animals from the dam.

The scene was processed before the body was moved to Daniel Comboni Mission Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police have classified the incident as a pending inquiry as investigations continue to establish the exact circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
