Police in Mirangine, Nyandarua County, have arrested a suspect in connection with the circulation of threatening leaflets that were distributed in Mirangine and Kanjuiri Ridge wards ahead of the Olkalou by-election on Thursday next week.
According to police, the arrest followed an intelligence led operations launched after the leaflets were circulated on July 10.
The suspect, identified as Sammy Maina Chege, was taken into custody and is assisting investigators with more information to assist in arresting more suspects if they exist.
Police disclosed that the suspect is expected to be arraigned at the Ol’Kalou Law Courts on Monday, July 13, 2026, where detectives are expected to seek custodial orders as they complete with their investigations as they trace and arrest other suspected accomplices.
