The night before this moment, Jesus was surrounded by crowds, healing the sick and driving out demons until late. His ministry was exploding with success, demands, and urgent needs. Yet, before the sun rose, He slipped away into the quiet darkness to be alone with God.
If the Son of God prioritized solitary prayer over the relentless demands of a successful ministry, how much more do we need it? Notice that Jesus didn’t wait to pray until He had free time—He intentionally carved out space before the world could claim His energy. He anchored His identity in communion with the Father before engaging in the work of the day.
Stop giving God the leftover scraps of your energy at the end of the day. Pick a specific time tomorrow morning—even if it’s just 10 minutes before everyone else wakes up—to step into a quiet room, put away your phone, and connect with your Heavenly Father before the demands of the world pull you away.
