A routine security operation at the Isebania One Stop Border Post (OSBP) in Migori county yesterday evening led to the arrest of a Chinese national after a police sniffer dog detected suspected heroin hidden in his possession.
The operation, conducted involved searches on tourist luggage aboard six vehicles.
Police said sniffer dog christened “Badi” gave a positive indication on the luggage of an adult Chinese male, prompting officers to conduct further checks.
The matter was immediately referred to the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) at Isebania, where the recovered substance was field tested and confirmed positive for heroin.
The suspect and the recovered exhibit were booked at Isebania Police Post as investigations continue ahead of legal proceedings.
