President William Ruto on Sunday said that the partnership between the ruling party UDA and the ODM party remains strong and enduring, anchored in the Broad-Based Government framework.

Speaking in Kisumu City after meeting more than 10,000 grassroots leaders from Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori counties at the Kenya Shipyards, Ruto said the engagement focused on the region’s development priorities and the national transformation agenda.
Ruto said the cooperation between ODM and UDA was also in honour of the late statesman Raila Odinga, adding that the partnership would continue to support development and national unity.

The President said his administration had made significant progress over the last four years, including stabilising and expanding the economy, reducing inflation, strengthening foreign exchange reserves, reviving stalled road projects and returning contractors to construction sites.
He said the government was now building on the gains through major infrastructure investments targeting western Kenya and other parts of the country.

Ruto cited plans to extend the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Narok to Kisumu and onwards to Malaba, alongside the construction of the Rironi-Mau Summit road, which he said would connect to Malaba through Eldoret and to Kisumu through Kericho.

According to the President, the projects will ease movement, improve connectivity and unlock greater economic opportunities across the region.
