Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has said Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will vie for the presidency in the 2027 General Election on a United Democratic Party (UDP) ticket.
Natembeya said opposition leaders were working towards a united front and would negotiate on the presidential flag bearer ahead of the election.
“The party is there; Sifuna’s party is called the United Democratic Party; it is the one that we shall use,” Natembeya said on Thursday.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions within the opposition over political parties, coalition arrangements and the choice of a single presidential candidate for 2027.
