By Our Correspondent,Riruta.
Political tensions surfaced in Riruta on Saturday afternoon after People’s Renaissance Movement (PRM) party leader and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi claimed he was attacked by alleged goons shortly after attending a church service at SDA Church, Riruta.
According to Amisi, the attackers were allegedly hired by the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and confronted him, reportedly saying, “Hio ni area ya Tutam.”
Police officers from Riruta reportedly intervened following the incident.
In a statement, Amisi thanked a boda boda rider who helped him escape to safety, while condemning what he described as a growing culture of political violence and intimidation.
He called for an end to goon driven politics, urging Kenyans to embrace a new leadership approach ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The allegations against UDA had not been independently verified.
