At least 22 people have been killed and scores injured after a passenger bus collided head on with a lorry at Kanga area along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway in Makueni County on Sunday.
Makueni County Commissioner Abdulahi Khalif confirmed the fatalities, with rescue operations and efforts to assist the injured following the crash going on.
The circumstances surrounding the accident were not immediately established.
