Fake DCI Officers Narrowly Escape  Mob Justice in Kisumu West

Police in Kisumu West have arrested two men accused of impersonating officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after residents attempted to subject them to mob justice in Huma village.

According to a report filed at Maseno Police Station,today evening,the incident was reported through a phone call by one of the residents of Huma Village.

He alerted police that two suspicious individuals claiming to be DCI officers were facing imminent attack from  members of the public.

Officers from Maseno Police Station swiftly responded to the scene at Huma Village in Newa Location and rescued the two suspects from the angry crowd.

They later on arrested  them.

The suspects were identified as David Odhiambo Omollo, a resident of Huma area, and Lazarus Ojuka Oloo, a resident of Lela.

Police established that the two, who appeared to be intoxicated, had gone to the home of Reuben Anguko Ambuvi and falsely claimed they were DCI officers on a mission to arrest people in the area.

Their actions raised suspicion among residents, prompting the alarm that led to police intervention.

The two suspects are currently being held in police custody at Maseno Police Station pending arraignment in court.

Police have warned members of the public against impersonating security officers, terming it a serious offence that undermines public trust and security.
