A section of people supporting President William Ruto’s second term led by Faith Nguthu have praised him for what they termed his implementation of tangible development projects across the country.
They said the President deserves a second term to complete his agenda.
Nguthu, popularly known as “Fey Mama Tutam,” was speaking at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East Constituency during a Valentine’s Day celebration where she distributed cakes and gifts to women.
“We have seen development projects taking shape across the country. The President deserves a second term to complete what he has started,” Nguthu said.
She urged residents to rally behind the government’s development agenda and maintain unity, calling on Kenyans to support the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“Let us keep the fighting spirit and support the Bottom-Up agenda so that every Kenyan can have equal opportunity,” she added.
Nguthu said the time was ripe for wananchi to take a firm stand in backing the President as he implements BETA, which she described as an inclusive economic blueprint.
“The BETA agenda focuses on agriculture, MSMEs, housing, healthcare, and the digital superhighway. It is about lowering the cost of living, creating jobs, and uplifting livelihoods,” she noted.
She also appealed to leaders across the political divide to support President Ruto’s re-election bid to ensure full implementation of empowerment and development programmes.
The event’s highlight was a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, with the cake modeled in the shape of high-rise affordable housing projects,an illustration of the government’s housing agenda.
A portrait painting of President Ruto was also unveiled, drawing chants from supporters calling for his re-election.
“This housing programme is transforming lives. That is why we are saying, let him finish the job,” Nguthu said during the unveiling.
Her sentiments were echoed by musician and activist Julius Owino, popularly known as Majimaji, the hitmaker behind the 2002 NARC campaign anthem Unbwogable.
“What matters to me is leadership that delivers to the electorate. Kenyans want results, not endless politics,” Majimaji said.
Despite being a staunch member of the Orange Democratic Movement, he urged party leaders to remain objective and acknowledge progress where it is evident.
“Even as ODM members, we must demand better service delivery. Where the government is working, let us acknowledge it for the sake of our people,” he said.
On internal party wrangles, Majimaji called on ODM’s top leadership, led by party leader Oburu Oginga, to unite members, saying national harmony and development should take precedence.
He further stated that his approach reflects the long held position of Raila Odinga, emphasizing objective criticism, encouragement of positive initiatives, and demands for improved service delivery.
Majimaji also commended Babu Owino, the Embakasi East MP, for championing development in his constituency despite opposing a formal working relationship between ODM and UDA under the proposed 10-point agenda framework.
The Valentine’s Day event brought together leaders and activists from Bunge la Wananchi, including ODM supporter Shadrack Orwa, alias Omosh One Hour, alongside other local leaders.
