Police in Kisumu County have arrested ten suspects following an operation along the Kisumu–Kisian road near the airport roundabout.
According to a report filed at Kisumu Central Police Station yesterday evening,officers from the DCI intercepted a Toyota Noah suspected to be ferrying criminal elements.
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be carrying ten occupants.
Six of them were allegedly armed with knives.
The suspects arrested are, Cyrus Ondero Otieno (32), Peter Okoth Owino (28), Emely Omondi Ochieng (23), Masheti Ernest Shikhuyu (34), Dickson Manyeso (42), Shandrack Aura Ogutu (32), Patrick Omondi Munde (40), Collins Omondi Ogada (37), David Omollo Mao (35), and Clifford Juma Odhiambo (33).
All the suspects were escorted to the station and are being held pending further police action.
Police said the operation underscores heightened surveillance and proactive measures to curb crime within Kisumu and its environs.
