Mogor Bridge Washed Away

By Our Reporter,Narok.

Transport between Transmara West and Transmara South has been brought to a complete halt after Mogor Bridge along the Kilgoris–Lolgorien Highway was washed away by raging floodwaters following continuous heavy rainfall.

According to a report recorded at Kilgoris Police Station today the bridge collapsed after intense downpour that began yesterday and continued overnight.

The bridge serves as a critical link between Transmara West and Transmara South within Kilgoris area.

The destruction has rendered the road completely impassable, leaving both motorists and pedestrians stranded.

Access between Kilgoris and Lolgorien has been cut off, effectively isolating the two towns by road.

Authorities say heavy rains are still ongoing, raising fears of further damage to infrastructure in the region.

Efforts are currently underway to reach out to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to assess the situation and initiate emergency interventions.
Residents have been advised to avoid the affected area and seek alternative routes where possible as officials continue monitoring the situation.

A progress report is expected to follow once assessments are completed.
