Kenyan National Arrested in Alabama Drug Bust

A 25 year old Kenyan national has been arrested in a targeted drug enforcement operation in Birmingham, a city located in Alabama, in the United States, authorities have confirmed.

According to law enforcement officials, Brian Korir Kipkoech was apprehended alongside Sushil Gorantala (26) along Graymont Avenue after investigators allegedly uncovered controlled substances believed to have been intended for distribution.

The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug trafficking within the area.

During the arrest, officers reportedly recovered 3,186 grams of marijuana and 91 THC cartridges.

Authorities believe the substances were meant for sale rather than personal use.

Booking records from the Birmingham Police Department show that Kipkoech was booked into custody on February 20, 2026, and is currently being held on a felony hold.

His booking details list him as Brian Kipkoech Korir, born on June 4, 2000, aged 25, with an address recorded as Birmingham, Alabama 35209.

He faces several charges, including drug trafficking, possession of dangerous drugs, and marijuana possession.

Authorities have not yet released information on court appearances or whether further arrests are expected as investigations continue.
