A family in Kariani area of Lari, Kiambu County, is seeking justice after an 18 year old mentally challenged girl was allegedly abducted and gang raped by two men known to her, police have confirmed.
According to a report recorded at Lari Police Station, the girl went missing from her home on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Her mother told police that efforts by relatives and neighbors to trace her whereabouts were unsuccessful for two days.
The girl returned home on Sunday, March 1 2026, where she recounted her ordeal to her mother.
She said she had been lured by a female friend identified as YYY, who was in the company of two male acquaintances.
The group reportedly went to one of the suspects’ house, where her friend later left, leaving the girl alone with the two men.
The victim alleged that after her friends departure, the two men sexually assaulted her and confined her at the house from Friday until Sunday, when she was finally released and allowed to return home.
Following the report, the victim was escorted to the police station by her mother and two uncles.
She was later referred to Planet Hospital Nyambare for medical examination and treatment.
Police say investigations are ongoing and the suspects are being sought as persons of interest.
Authorities have assured the family that the matter is being handled with urgency and sensitivity.
The case has reignited concerns over the safety of vulnerable persons and the growing number of sexual violence cases in rural communities, with calls for swift arrests and tougher action against perpetrators.
