Pistol Retrieved From Nairobi River

A rusty firearm has been recovered from the Nairobi River in a case now under investigation by detectives in Nairobi.

Its recovery was reported at California Police Station, yesterday evening.

The report was made by a police officer based in Eastleigh Section 3 after an unusual discovery involving a street boy.

According to police,the boy reportedly walked into a police patrol base carrying a metallic object, which he handed over to officers.

Upon inspection, the item was confirmed to be a rusty revolver pistol with no visible serial number.

He told police that he had found the firearm inside the Nairobi River near Motherland area in Eastleigh.

The weapon has since been handed over to officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations based in Shauri Moyo for further examination and investigation.

Authorities have opened a case pending investigations as detectives seek to establish the origin of the firearm and whether it may have been used in any criminal activities.
