Isaiah 42:1 is a prophetic picture of Jesus Christ, God’s chosen Servant. Before Jesus performed miracles, preached to multitudes, or went to the cross, the Father declared His delight in Him. He was upheld by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill His divine assignment.
This verse reminds us that every God given assignment requires God’s sustaining power. Just as the Father upheld His Servant, He also strengthens those who walk in His will. We are not called to serve God through human strength alone but through the enabling of the Holy Spirit.
When challenges arise, remember that God does not send His people without support. He upholds, equips, and empowers them to accomplish His purposes. Your calling may seem difficult, but the One who called you is faithful to sustain you.
Today, surrender your plans and burdens to the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you for every assignment God has given you, and trust that He will uphold you every step of the way.
