Bible Verse of the day:John 7:7

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya.

John 7:7- “The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.”

While we often focus on the comfort of Christ, this verse highlights the inevitable friction that occurs when light meets darkness.

Jesus wasn’t hated because He was unkind; He was hated because He was honest. He stood as a mirror to a society that preferred its shadows. When we align our lives with His truth, we shouldn’t be surprised when we encounter social pressure or “the cold shoulder.” If we fit in perfectly with a world that rejects God’s values, we have to ask ourselves: are we reflecting His light, or have we dimmed it to avoid the heat?

True discipleship isn’t a popularity contest; it’s a commitment to the truth. Jesus reminds us that the world’s disapproval is often a sign that we are standing exactly where He stood—in the bold, transformative power of the Gospel.

Evaluate your “testimony” this week. Are there places in your professional or social life where you have stayed silent to stay “liked”? Identify one situation where you can gently but firmly stand up for what is right or true, even if it’s unpopular. Choose integrity over approval.
