CO-OP Bank Hosts Youth in Agriculture Forum

Co-operative Bank has hosted the Youth in Agriculture Forum in Eldoret,UasinGishu county. During the forum,discussions focused on real opportunities for young farmers and agripreneurs in areas of vertical farming, smart farming, biotechnology, precision farming, and the dairy value chain from agrovet services and animal health to digital solutions, marketing, distribution, value addition, and market access.

The forum was addressed by among others Julius Sitienei, Vice Chairman Co-op Holdings Co-operative Society and Member of the Bank’s Board of Directors. We are championing youth excellence in agriculture.

Other speakers included Douglas Gatimu (Head of Agribusiness, Co-op Bank), Daniel Kimosop (Branch Manager, Eldoret Main Branch), Christopher Kibet Rop (CEO, Sirikwa Dairies), CPA Stephen Kirwa Tirop (CEO, Ainabkoi Farmers Co-operative Society Ltd), George Kibet (Director, Mashambani Agrovet), and Prof. Miriam Kinyua (Department of Biotechnology, University of Eldoret).

The bank made a commitment that through the forum it was reaffirming its commitment to harnessing youth innovation and positioning young people at the centre of modern agriculture.
