DPP terminates Sh25m criminal case against two business men

The director of public prosecution Renson Igonga has terminated criminal case facing two accused persons alleged to have defrauded an investor Sh25.7 million in a Gold transaction.

The prosecution told trial Magistrate Carolyne Mugo that the office of the ODPP did not wish to pursue the criminal proceedings brought against Jonathan Okoth Opande and Steve Ochieng Odhiambo.

The two accused persons were charged that between 19th January 19, 2019 and February 18 2019 at Lagos hotel within Nairobi county, jointly with others not before court with intent to defraud obtained Shs 25, 760, 000 from Samuel Olaleye Adeyeni by falsely pretending that they were in a position to supply him with 250 kilogrammes of Gold a fact they knew to be false.
