Eye on GenZ’s 2nd Anniversary:Nairobi CBD Entry Nearly Impossible

By Our Correspondent,Nairobi

Entry into Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) was nearly impossible on the morning of Thursday, June 25, as security agencies intensified operations and barricaded several major roads leading into the city centre during the day to mark second anniversary of the Gen Z anti-Finance Bill protests.

Motorists and commuters experienced major disruptions, with reports indicating that many public service vehicles were unable to access the CBD.

Several matatus remained stranded outside the city centre as police mounted roadblocks and restricted movement along key routes.

Long distance travel was also affected after a number of bus companies operating inter-county routes reportedly suspended their services on Wednesday night as a precautionary measure amid heightened security concerns.
