Detectives in Nairobi have arrested Utawala Ward MCA Patrick Karani and two associates over allegations of mobilizing groups ahead of the planned June 25, 2026 Gen Z demonstrations.
According to a police report filed at Muthaiga Police Station yesterday,officers from the DCI arrested Karani at around 3:00 p.m. at his office premises known as Roosters along Thika Superhighway.
The MCA was arrested alongside Stanley Njogu and Stephen Kimathi.
Police reports indicate that the three suspects were allegedly mobilizing individuals through various social media platforms in preparation for activities connected to the commemoration of the June 25 Gen Z protests.
Investigators have recommended that Karani and Njogu be charged with preparation to commit a felony, while Kimathi is expected to face charges of being in possession of a firearm without a valid firearm certificate.
