Former Marsabit Assembly Speaker Reports Loss of Glock Pistol in Nairobi

A former Speaker of the Marsabit County Assembly has reported the loss of his licensed firearm after an encounter with two women in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

According to a report lodged at Central Police Station today morning,the complainant, Mathew Loltome, a businessman based in Garissa, said he had travelled to Nairobi three days earlier.

Loltome told police that at about 11:00 p.m. on Friday, he met two women identified as Beyonce Mueni and Smasher Mutheu along Wabera Street.

The three later drove in his white Toyota Voxy,to Tom Mboya Street, where he alighted after exchanging contacts with one of the women, leaving them in the vehicle.

He later discovered that his Glock 19 pistol which had been kept in the vehicle’s glove compartment throughout the day, was missing when he checked while on Dubois Road.

According to the police report, one of the women, Smasher Mutheu, allegedly informed the complainant that Beyonce Mueni had taken the firearm and concealed it in her clothing before leaving.

Loltome proceeded to Central Police Station accompanied by Mutheu and reported the incident.

The suspect is currently in police custody as detectives from the DCI Central continue with investigations to establish the whereabouts of the missing firearm and apprehend the second suspect.

Police have launched investigations into the incident.
