Four arrested at bus park,home made gun, ammunition recovered

Four suspects have been arrested at the main bus park in Kisii where police also recovered a homemade pistol, live ammunition and other criminal items during a late night operation yesterday.

Police at Kisii Central Police Station,in their early morning report today indicated that they acted on information from members of the public about suspicious individuals carrying bags within the bus park at around midnight.

They rushed to the scene where the suspects allegedly noticed their presence and attempted to flee.

Officers quickly cordoned off the area and managed to arrest all the four suspects.

During a search, police recovered one homemade pistol, one round of ammunition, two knives, one hammer, elastic gloves and a manila rope.

The suspects were identified as Evans Makori, 27, Robert Omosa, 45, Peter Kuria, 25, and Moses Kariuki, 27.

All four are being held in police custody pending further investigations to establish the motive behind possession of the weapons and other recovered items.
